I cherish my time with my chosen family- those that are blood related and not.

My Story

I grew up in College Station, TX, home to Texas A&M University. This provided a unique upbringing in a town known for its education. Ultimately, my education led me to attend the college of my hometown during which I obtained an internship with Cortier’s Reality where I found my passion for Digital Marketing. This is what led to my decision to pursue a Master’s in Marketing.

Before leaving TAMU/CS for the University of Houston, unfortunately life reminded me of what loss and grief was. Through the adaptability and resilience I had gained through numerous losses in my upbringing, I decided to take the death of my beloved puppy Chloe Roo on National Puppy Day and turn it into something that would make a difference. I decided to organize a 5K in her honor the following years on National Puppy Day where the profits went to the rescue I got her from. With no prior knowledge I found vendors, secured contracts and legal requirements, all while marketing it to be profitable. In the 3 years we held the event we raised about $20,000 in her honor. It was during this time I also found my passion for the animal rescue world, fundraising, and event planning. This led to my time at Leandra & Co. where I am still planning and coordinating weddings and parties. It quickly became clear that what drove me the most was making an impact for the better in a world that can be cruel, focusing on the happy moments and advocating for injustice.

While finishing up my final year of my Master’s COVID hit. I had started a part time position there as a Customer Service Specialist and quickly moved up. I had several prior years of experience with retail, customer service, and teamwork so I was a great fit. Ultimately, a couple months after the world shut down, I was offered an assistant store manager position. I took the position and spent a total of 4 years with Dicks Sporting Goods where I learned so many skills such as leadership, decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution, stress management, analysis, and holding integrity in the workforce.

During my 3rd year at DSG I got the news that my location was going to be shut down for reconstruction and one of the options was severance. After careful consideration I realized this was my time to get back into my field of study. Shortly after, I made the decision to sign up for Rice University's Digital Marketing Certification so I could brush up on my prior knowledge and catch up on any advances I may have missed during my time away. Finishing up my 18-week bootcamp I am excited to apply my expertise as a social media strategist and combine it with my empathetic leadership experience from customer service to help businesses grow. With fine tuning my presentation skills, social media curation & management, website curation & management, analysis of campaigns, and other digital marketing skills I am ready to start my new journey in the Digital Marketing world.
